IIT Madras has been ranked first in the NIRF rankings by MHRD and GOI for the seventh time in a row. Students at IIT Madras are constantly engaged in attempting to push their ideas beyond their labs, hostels, and workspaces through organizations such as the Entrepreneurship Cell, pre-incubator such as Nirmaan, and organizations such as the IITM Incubation Cell.

About Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT-Madras

The Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Madras aims to unlock students’ latent inventive potential. We are a non-profit student-run organisation, with the mission to make the entrepreneurial world more accessible to all the young minds and startups out there, and simultaneously mould our country towards attaining a self-sustainable status.

Over the years, Entrepreneurship Cell is known to have nurtured some of the best startups in the entrepreneurship arena like Detect Technologies (Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia), Hyperverge, and many more among others, and had the privilege to work under the leaders like Mr. Tarun Mehta (Co-Founder, Ather Energy) being the Head of the organisation during his Institute Days.

Elevate

What is Elevate?

Elevate is a pan-India level fund-raising event that not only aims to bring eminent startups across the nation but also brings in world-class mentors, thus throwing a spotlight on some of the most promising startups in the country. Through overall leveraging of the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem, Elevate gives the startups an opportunity to elevate their skills and at the same time, raise funds and get themselves into the tremendous pool of market opportunities and resources available.

More than 150+ startups participate in the event aiming to raise funds and grow their startup.

Structure

The entire competition is divided into 3 rounds,

• Round 1 : Registration (online)

  • Submit few detail about your startup along with MVP/Prototype and website link
  • The submission window will be open for a week
  • The submissions will be reviewed by startup mentors, industry leaders and representatives from accelerators

  The judges will shortlist 15-20 startups per city for Round 2 who will be invited to different cities for Live-pitching.

• Round 2 : Zonal (offline)

  • Selected Startups will have to pitch their startup in front of the panel of experts.
  • A minimum of two teams from every zone will move forward for the next stage.
  • The zonal round will be held in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. The startups will have to travel to their nearest city in which zonal round is being held.

• Round 3 : Finale

  • The finalists will pitch during E-Summit, IIT Madras in front of a panel of delegates from the investment teams of renowned Venture Capital Firms i.e. Elevate’s Investment Sponsors.
  • The finalists would also get free passes to E-Summit ‘23.
  • The winners of Elevate will be rewarded with a cash prize worth INR 2.25 lacs.
